The other side

Two months yesterday, I was baking peanut butter brownies and waiting for snow with friends in Kanata, Canada. Today, I'm sitting in a newly constructed IKEA bed in a freshly painted corner of our Paris flat watching the rain—and thinking about baking brownies.

For the first month, we stayed with L. who had a lovely kitchen with a proper oven. Now that we've moved into our own place across the street (quelle chance!), I'm back to a four électrique (ay caramba).

Here we go again...

Surely L. will let you use her oven? If it were me I'd give you permanent access to my kitchen. Mmmm, it would pay off in spades.

@Kelly: I admit, L. has been most generous about offering up her oven—but the baking itch can strike at any time, without warning!
